  • Anxiety often shows up like an uninvited guest, taking up space in your thoughts, tightening your chest, or keeping you awake at night. At Aligned Mind Counseling, we see anxiety not as who you are but as a story that has tried to take the lead in your life. Together, we’ll slow down and listen to the role anxiety has been playing. sometimes as a warning system, sometimes as a relentless critic, and begin to imagine new chapters where it doesn’t get the final word.

We’ll engage openly and collaboratively to create real change. We’ll be searching and listening for your strengths and capacities; the very resources that will help you with the support, guidance, and tools you need to manage the anxiety and improve your overall mental health and well-being.

  • Do you feel like you're stuck in a dark and hopeless place and can't seem to find a way out? If so, know that you are not alone. The Depression can impact every aspect of your life. It can make it difficult to find joy in the things you once enjoyed, and it can feel like there's no way out.

Your counselor can provide you with a safe and non-judgmental space to help you resolve conundrums and find and implement solutions. In our work together, we’ll gently explore the ways depression has been showing up in your daily life, while also noticing the quiet acts of strength you’ve carried, getting out of bed on difficult mornings, reaching out for support, or simply showing up to therapy. These small, powerful choices remind us that your story contains threads of resilience and hope, even when they feel hard to see.

  • Grief can be a response to many different types of losses such as a pet, a job, a loved one, or divorce. If you are having a hard time coping on your own, therapy can be a great option. If you are looking for support related to grief and loss, we offer a safe space for us to explore these areas.

  • At Aligned Mind Counseling, we know that every story carries chapters marked by both resilience and hardship. When past experiences of pain or trauma show up in the present, it can sometimes feel like those chapters are louder than the rest of your story. Our work together is about gently re-authoring those narratives, creating space for you to uncover the strength, wisdom, and values that have been guiding you all along.

  • Change can be hard, and adjusting to major life transitions, even when they are positive, can be difficult. Whether you are getting married, moving, changing jobs, having a child – or any of the other many transitions we can expect as part of life – coping and navigating the stress of a major change can make us feel down or anxious, among other issues. If you are having trouble with accepting or adjusting to life transition, we can help.

  • Couples and families come to see us for many different reasons, including grief, illness, depression, anxiety, school problems, parenting issues, conflict, domestic violence, substance abuse, and various life-transition issues—babies being born, kids going off to college, divorce, remarriage, step-parenting challenges, and more. We work with all members who feel affected by the current concerns, and we ensure that everyone feels respected and heard as we strive to make sense of the situation from each person’s perspective, looking for solutions that protect each person’s integrity.

  • We provide Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letters to enhance your well-being. Our dedicated team of licensed counselors understands the profound impact that the companionship of an emotional support animal can have on mental health.

At AMC, we prioritize your emotional well-being and recognize the therapeutic benefits of the human-animal bond. Our experienced counselors are committed to offering personalized and empathetic support as we guide you through the process of obtaining an ESA letter.

  • Behind every immigration case is a powerful human story—one of resilience, sacrifice, and hope. At Aligned Mind Counseling, we approach immigration evaluations with deep respect and care, recognizing that these assessments are not just paperwork, but reflections of lived experiences.

We provide comprehensive psychological evaluations for immigration cases, including hardship waivers, asylum, VAWA, and U-Visa applications. Our trauma-informed approach means we take time to listen carefully, create a safe space, and honor the cultural and personal context of your journey. We work collaboratively with you to ensure your voice, experiences, and strengths are clearly represented in the evaluation.

While these evaluations serve an important legal purpose, we also see them as a way of honoring your story. Our goal is to provide a thorough, compassionate assessment that not only supports your case but also acknowledges the courage it has taken to come this far.

Your story matters, and we are here to help it be heard.

  • Regardless of who our clients are or how many people are involved, we look for ways to help solve conundrums, brainstorm alternatives, resolve conflicts, and explore solutions and possibilities.

  • Every person is unique. Therefore, problems can come in many shapes and sizes, so there are no limitations to what we can talk about to reach your goals. You won’t be treated like a patient. Instead, you’ll be treated like a person. Whether this is your first time meeting with a therapist or you’ve been in therapy in the past, you’ll feel welcome and safe with us.

Grab your favorite blanket, cup of coffee or tea and allow your pets to join us while you connect from your home. Sessions take place using a 100% private, HIPAA compliant video-conferencing platform. We use a platform called Simple Practice, and you will receive a link inviting you to a secure video room for each session.

What is One-at-a-Time Therapy?

Many people find that a single session of counseling helps to get them started in a new direction. The focus of the session is on your greatest worry, challenge or difficulty, and what you want to achieve from the meeting. Our aim is for you to leave the session with some ideas or strategies to try out. Sessions are available for individuals, couples and families. Some find that their session is enough for now. Some decide to access a future scheduled or unscheduled One-at-a-Time session. Additional service options can be discussed with your therapist at the time of the session. Every person is unique, so there is no set number of sessions. It’s whatever works best for you!

What is walk-and-talk therapy?

Walk-and-Talk therapy is a mindfulness-based body oriented therapy that can make it easier for clients to relax while processing experiences in a different way. As the name describes, clients talk with us while walking or setting outdoors rather than in a therapy office. Walking side by side rather than sitting face to face enables some clients to feel more comfortable when sharing in the therapy process.
